What is/are preventing Linux from being more popular

Linux is much better than Windows in many ways, as I mentioned in my previous post, but unfortunately the market share of Linux desktop has not increased much. As a matter of fact, the market share of Linux desktop from 01/01/2018 to 08/31/2018 even decreased comparing to the same period of last year, from 2.25% to 1.98%, according to Net Market Share:
