Sprint new CEO promises to cut price and improve network

You probably already heard that Sprint’s new CEO Marcelo Claure has three priorities to turn the company back on the right track: cut prices, improve the cellular network, and reduce the operation cost. To me, the first two should be done at the same time.

I have been with Sprint since 2011 the then unlimited family plan (it is a grandfather plan now because Sprint has discontinued the plan) because my family is heavy on the data usage, but the network speed is slow. Moreover, my office is in a basement, and I get drop calls all the time because the reception is horrible. The data roaming warning pops up every single day, and thanks to the unlimited data plan I don’t have to worry about the data roaming charge. While I usually don’t have any bar for my network connection in the basement, my colleagues who have AT&T or Verizon service would have at least two bars! What is the point of having an unlimited plan while you cannot practically use it!

So please Sprint, the price cut is definitely good and attractive, but the service is also as important. If the network is crappy, then even if your price is the lowest I am still wasting my money and time, right?!
